To support our science curriculum on rocks, my third grade students took a field trip to this quarry. The management, Mr. David Stewart and Mr. Gary Watkins, were terrific! They spoke to the students in kid-friendly terms, showing great enthusiasm and patience. After the trip, the attending grade-level parents commented on how receptive the quarry workers were toward the children. One parent stated how touched she was to see the men sincerely enjoy working with the students and listening to their stories. In closing, I must say this company, represented by Warrenton Rock Quarry is a wonderful resource to our school and community. It is a blessing to have such support for education and community ties.
